These wish lists include the most commonly needed and requested items in our programs.  Don’t have time to drop off donations? You can always donate monetarily on this website and designate Bean’s or TCL (or both).  We know Alaska loves Amazon! Food Donations:

Bean’s Cafe and The Children’s Lunchbox rely heavily on the donation of food items to serve the thousands of hungry adults and children in Anchorage. We are able to receive a variety of different types of foods, with a few restrictions

What we can accept:

Canned Goods 
Food prepared in a commercial kitchen 
Fresh Fruits & Vegetables 
Pre-packaged food items purchased at store

Whole or unprocessed meats.

For example, moose roast but not moose sausage, unless it is professionally processed. Whole salmon but not smoked or canned, unless done professionally.

What we cannot accept:

Home-made food items 
Opened food items (such as a box of cookies that may not have been fully eaten) 
Left-over food items (such as remaining food from a conference or barbecue). 
Spoiled food items

Items not prepared in a commercial kitchen

All food items for Bean’s Cafe can be dropped off at Bean’s Cafe, 1101 E 3rd Ave. 7 days a week 8am – 4pm

Food donations for The Children’s Lunchbox can be brought to 1020 E. 4th Ave., Monday through Friday between 9am and 4 pm.

BEAN-a-fits and Catering Options:

What’s a Bean-a-fit? A super fun, uber-delicious, and easy fundraising opportunity for groups large and small! A Bean-a-fit is a lunch provided by Bean’s Cafe of two bean soups and the best cornbread in town. Bean-a-fits are great for office get-togethers, church meetings, and friendly gatherings. Option “A”

Full Service Bean-a-fit

Select your soups, then pick a date, and we will prepare, deliver, and serve the soups and cornbread. We can also bring mugs and soup mixes to sell at your request

Option “B”

Half & Half Bean-a-fit

Select your soups, then pick a date, and we will prepare the soups and cornbread, and you pick it up, serve it, and then return the equipment to Bean’s Cafe afterwards. This must be prepaid, and a deposit is required on any equipment rented for the Bean-a-fit (e.g. chafing dishes, pans, etc.)

Option “C”

Do It Yourself Bean-a-fit

Select your soups and pick a date, then give us a shout. We’ll set you up with as many soup mixes you need, and you can host your own Bean-a-fit. Soup mixes must be prepaid, and proceeds can be mailed or delivered post-event.
